Dear Friends,
I cannot believe the last time I posted was in May! Time certainly got away from me!
There have been many positive events since then.
Hubby changed jobs in June, so this has changed the rhythm of my days. I spend my weekends with my man, now. He no longer works weekends, we commute to work together (all of 5 minutes!) and get all the stat holidays off together! It has been wonderful! He did what he had to do to look after his family for the last 25 years, and our friends and family accommodated this schedule so graciously so we could be a part of special events and social occasions. We truly appreciate this more than we can say! it is truly a blessing to enjoy this season of life together, now, and we are making the most of it!
In July, we went on a 6000 km road trip. Off to Port Hardy, BC for our niece’s wedding with stops along the way to visit lifelong friends and relatives. We had a fabulous time! We highly recommend visiting Port Hardy. They have the friendliest people in Canada, I think! We would definitely go back and stay at the Kwa’Lilas Hotel. The staff was friendly, the hotel was comfortable, and the food was fantastic! We also enjoyed our stay in Barriére, BC, where people were also very welcoming! Happily enough, a side effect of this journey is that the anxiety I had being on the road is almost completely gone! Hallelujah! I still blurt when I feel we’re too close to a car, much to my husband’s annoyance, but who’s perfect?
Summer blew by as hubby spent several weekends doing training for his new job, and I made like a housewife to try and keep up with the normal life chores. We have attended several birthdays, and have have had also had to say good-bye to some friends and family, too. We did manage to squeeze in a trip to Grand Beach and Oak Hammock Marsh. We love the walking trails at the marsh! (Note: Washroom access, the store, and trails are free to access.) Life has been very full!
Consequently, the time I used to write isn’t there by default anymore. I almost considered stopping the blog. It’s site host fee is a bit pricey but when I opened up this page to type, I realized that once I start, writing it’s hard to stop. I feel so excited and positive full of joy, so I guess you’re stuck with me for another year!
You never know what you’ll find here this year: maybe links to recipe’s I’ve tried, pictures, short stories or poetry – who knows? I know I have some writers and awesome chefs in the bunch, so feel free to recommend a recipe or submit a story to share with the rest of us!
Until we connect again! <3
